Karen AKA KarenKandy, autologous BMT January 1992 at Strong Memorial Hospital for relapsed Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Married 41 years to Ed, 8-year survivor of pancreatic & bladder cancer. Two sons, ages 32 & 29, daughter-in-law, and grandson born in April! Currently living in Packer Country–Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Liz, AML in 1999, remission with an induction chemotherapy at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Watertown, Mass. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in the Longwood Medical area of Boston, was where she received a peripheral blood stem cell transplant (PBSCT) from her brother, Paul, on July 22nd, 1999, GVHD issues were only a few acute episodes that ended with her discharge in August 1999. Unmarried and has no children or pets, but very happy plants!
Wendy, Little sister Crystal diagnosed with CML in March 2001. Crystal passed away July 22, 2005, before we could find a donor. I live in NorCali, I’m married, have a son, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and 6 grandsons. We have been in business for 30 years, and I’m also a volunteer firefighter/EMT.
Bob, AKA dagbob, caregiver for daughter’s transplant for AML in 96 with unrelated donor. Married for 33 years, 3 children, lives in NE. Continues the fight against Leukemia as a coach for Team in Training’s marathon team and working with “Be The Match” for NMDP as a volunteer and marrow courier.
